EVERY CHILD DESERVES A BED TO SLEEP IN

In Massachusetts in 2023, 141,595 children (10.4% of all children age 18 and under), are living in poverty. 9.871 children are in foster care while 32% live in a single-parent family.*

A total of 27,230 children in the state are without a bed to sleep in. They are sleeping on floors with only some blankets, a sleeping bag or a thin mattress to provide comfort when they go to bed at night.

We want to change that.

Beds for kids: Ensuring every child gets a good night's sleep

Deb’s Beds was formed to meet the needs of families in Middlesex County, Massachusetts and surrounding areas with children who do not have a bed to sleep in.

We build and deliver twin and bunk beds, along with fresh bedding (mattresses, pillows, sheets, blankets and bedspreads) to children we learn are not sleeping in a bed at night. We set up the bed for them and watch the smiles and happiness form on their faces. Many of the children we deliver a bed to are getting a bed to sleep in for the first time in their lives. Providing beds for children to sleep in make a difference in their lives.

Creating sweet dreams and sweeter lives

Every child wants a bed of their own to find comfort, rest and sleep. A good night’s sleep helps them perform well in school, balance their moods, and maintain physical health. Children feel safer, happier, and their lives seem more positive when they have a bed to call their own.

To make their dreams come true, we need your help!

Donations of cash, bed building lumber and hardware, mattresses, pillows and bedding are always needed and accepted.

Find out how to make a donation.

We also seek volunteer bed builders and deliverers.

We conduct occasional bed building events that are a lot of fun as well as gratifying.
